Everyone has a special attachment with his hometown. Anything that relates to it excites him specially when he is away from it. I think this was the reason that connected me with Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra for making the movie and and me watching it.
The story is very simple and straight. The true kind of people that stay in Delhi and definitely some practices which are not so popular now but definitely nothing is hyped. People of Delhi are like that as they are shown, somewhere they love to hate the things or relations but it is all superficial, they are one when needed truely.
The essence of oneness otherwise is not seen. People love to know others matters ,opinions but don’t think it to be of any value. The combination is completely brilliant. Anyone staying there will know it but since it is so common no one finds it unusual.
The caste is superb especially Divya Dutta her small appearance made a big impact.Since it is a democratic country and everyone has a right to form an opinion so many people find it boring or non stirring.
Definitely not everyone remembers the monkey spoof that hit Delhi few years back and causing even deaths as screened in the movie as well. Secondly the message he wants to give telling the oneness or unity of the countrymen even against a monkey which is remarkable is not digested by few though it is the most true thing of the whole film.
I really would appreciate if people keep making such films. Even if the film is considered a flop (which it is not) but if 1% people stop fighting for such reasons and barr people from misusing themselves for their own political motives then I think it would be the most successful film ever made.
